Canada Trip Day 4: Canada Place Visit & the Amazing Lunch at Opa!

16 June 2010 - I was getting so excited as my cousin was telling me all these places in Vancouver. There was BC place where hockey games are hosted, Granville Island is Canada's version of Times Square, NY and Stanley Park is a must-go because I heard they have totem poles there.

Along Burrard Street, we found a parking spot which we couldn't park because the parking meter is out of order. Parking meters should be the way to go since looking for the parking ticket booths or parking ladies (as we do here in Brunei) can get crazy for the drivers.

Canada Place is a little more touristy. There are sightseeing buses parked right in front and some tourists are taking photos. But, I can see why. The convention centre is a building of interest with its living roof and glass walls that stretches out to the harbour. And, there's the famous white sails of Canada Place where colours and interesting images can be projected on during special events such as the recent 2010 Winter Olympics which Vancouver hosted.

Just passing Howe Street on our way to Burrard Street to find parking before we get to visit Canada Place for a while

Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel with the wordings "Lying on top of a building, the clouds looked no nearer than when I was lying on the street" as part of the building's design. I like this building, makes me feel dreamy reading the sentence.
