Canada Trip Day 27: White Rock BC Canada

9 July 2010 - It was finally and properly summer on our last day in Canada! My cousins brought us to White Rock to enjoy the sun. It was pretty busy at the promenade but it was a merry sort of busy, which was nice. It was nice to see Mount Baker over in the States from White Rock.

That night, we had a barbeque with our Canadian family as well as other friends who had migrated from Brunei. I felt rather sad and somewhat regretted organising many days traveling around rather than spending more time with family. That can only mean another trip back to Canada.

Canada Trip Day 24: Queen Elizabeth Park and Mount Baker

6 July 2010 - I love the long daylight hours of summer which allowed us to cover many places of interest. The sun was slowly setting when we reached Queen Elizabeth Park. Visitors were still wandering around the gardens and children were found playing at the fountain area. The setting sun created a warm and calming ambience in the gardens. It was lovely to find a place of serenity in busy Vancouver. The park is located on Little Mountain, where we can get a view of Mount Baker in the States.

Unexpectedly, a photo session was taking place when we arrived. Models were posing by the fountain area and the photographer busily snapped away.

The Bloedel Conservatory was unfortunately closed. It is one of the attractions of the park, in the form of a geodesic dome, housing many flowers as well as some interesting birds. The Quarry Garden was quite empty, much to my delight. We found some nice views of the city and the surrounding mountains.

Canada Trip Day 23: Back in Whistler

5 July 2010 - We are back at the Whistler resort. After settling down in our hotel, we set out to the town centre to grab some food. Along the way, I took some random photos. Interestingly, there was a sign stating the river area as a water treatment wetland. Everything nature that has been urbanised we've seen so far along the highway from Banff to Vancouver are all properly taken care of which is impressive.
