On the 15th day of the Lunar Month, the temple celebrated the birthday of one of the deities. My sister had the opportunity of being a little star by being in a video shoot for Royal Brunei Airlines in-flight Brunei travelogue series, under the recommendation of a friend. Brunei video production company, Origin Artistic, needed a Chinese face and my sister is to be that face.
First off, she was told to play the role of a girl visiting the temple to pray on a festive day of the deity. But, the thing is, we are Christians! Thus, followed a series of funny encounters with the temple caretaker as he explained, in the Mandarin that we couldn't easily grasp, the steps to go about it. With enough confidence, my sister plucked up courage for the shoot while I, in amused enjoyment, recorded the event.
