Roses, girls & Senja

A busy, busy week I had. Alas, the weekend to look forward to. It was my bestfriend's belated dinner thing at Senja. I had a blast. Great company, great food and great music! To top it all off, one of my other bestfriend is back from KL for a short visit. What a way to get a good weekend rolling!

Photography Outing (SSEAYP)

Wan, Faiz and I planned on a photography outing to collect materials for the exhibition. We went to the Brunei's Museum of Technology and Bumbungan Dua Belas.

An 81st Birthday Celebration

At about 7.30pm onwards, we had the flow of guests arriving and walking straight to granny's table. Most people were confused as to which of the two granny's were celebrating the event. It was the lady on the right. Warm birthday greetings and gifts in the forms of "angpaos", nice wrapped items and flowers were presented to her.

My sister and I took turns in going around the entire restaurant, taking random pictures of people or group photos.

There is our very suave emcee who welcomed and thanked the guests, getting the evening of family bonding started.

Like all birthday occasions, the moment of the event came; the cake cutting.

And, there is the great woman who brought up her many grandchildren to become strong individuals. She has shared with me some of the most interesting life stories which I value and respect with much awe.

Poor little birdie

Finally, I plucked enough courage to walk along my "simpang" (street) and managed a few pictures. I didn't expect to find many eye-catching items. Well, lookie look, what have we here! I've been trying to find time and venues to familiarise myself with the 18-200mm. I found it difficult to use during events as I am currently struggling with weight issue, despite the small 450D. Last I tried using it at a function, it was tough trying to use the zoom while I had the weight of the camera with the flash on my other hand. Not to mention an entirely different ball game we're playing with moving subjects. Alas, any practice is good experience.
